Bình Thạnh is a district of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. As of 2006 the district had a population of 423,020.[1] The district covers an area of 21 km². The district capital lies at Ho Chi Minh City.[1]

The district has 20 wards. The name "Binh Thanh" was formed from the name of 2 wards in the old Go Vap district, Binh Hoa and Thanh My Tay. In 1976, 2 wards were removed from Go Vap district to create Binh Thanh district.

Administrative division: Binh Thanh is divided into 20 wards. They are ward 1, ward 2,3,5,6,7,11,12,13,14,15,17,19,21,22,24,25,26,27,28. Ward 4,8,9,10,16,18,20,23 omitted by adding them to other wards.[1]

The Binh Quoi Tourist Village is located on the Thanh Da peninsula on the Saigon River, in the Binh Thanh District.

Binh Thanh borders district 1, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap.
