Birkdale High School is an all-boys secondary school with academy status situated in Southport in North West England. Located close to neighbouring schools Christ the King and Greenbank High School (the equivalent girls' school), Birkdale was originally a co-educational school known as Birkdale Secondary Modern School. The school lacks a sixth form and only takes boys from ages 11-16. The uniform consists of a blue blazer, black trousers, a shirt and a tie. A navy blue jumper is also optional. The school also has good public transport links, located near Hillside Rail Station. On the grounds of the school, is Birkdale youth centre, run by Sefton Council for the time being, however this facility likely to be closed when restructuring of this service goes ahead.
