Bison Illustrated is a human interest magazine dedicated to North Dakota State University Bison athletics. The magazine covers many behind the scenes aspects surrounding NDSU athletics such as Where are They Now, coach's spouse features, in depth student-athlete profiles, fan theme rooms, tailgaiting rigs, tradition and history, family and kids pictures, and other article variety.

The magazine is published in full color nine times per year (August - April). Current distribution numbers range from 17,000 - 20,000 copies across the nation and readership is estimated to be 50,000 - 60,000.[citation needed]

The magazine is available at no cost and can be picked up at many locations in North Dakota and Minnesota, additionally a mail subscription is available.
