The Black Country Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a business network representing around 2,000 businesses in the Black Country, England. The Black Country Chamber was formed by an amalgamation of Dudley, Walsall, Sandwell and Wolverhamton Chambers in 2001. The organisation was then merged with the Department of Trade and Industry's Business Link support service for the region in 2003, becoming known as Black Country Chamber and Business Link (BCCBL).
As of April 31,[clarification needed] 2006, the organisation de-merged into its separate Chamber and Business Link elements and became known as the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.
The Black Country Chamber is notable within the Chamber network for the extensive lobbying and representation activities it undertakes on behalf of its members. In 2006 the major campaign for the Black Country Chamber sought to influence the relevant authorities to expand and improve the region's transport infrastructure using the campaign slogan "Get Moving!".
This Chamber of Commerce also runs schemes (in conjunction with the Business Link) to engage with the extensive local ethnic minority business communities and young professionals.
The current President of the Black Country Chamber is Peter Mathews CMG, owner and MD of Black Country Metals Ltd. The current Chief Executive of the Black Country Chamber is David Chambers.
