[edit] History

Blush Response was created in 2009 in New York City by as a reactionary statement towards the state of electronic music coming out at the time.

The project officially launched in June 2009 with the release of "Reduce You". A two track release, featuring demo versions of songs that would appear on the debut album “We Are Replicants” - A dark and subversive take on life in the age of infinite consumption that harkens back to albums such as Front 242’s “Tyranny (For You)” and Skinny Puppy’s “Too Dark Park”.

Shortly before the release of the album, Blush Response remixed Dangerous Muse's single I Want It All.

Following the release of “We Are Replicants” came the single EPs “Control Freak” and “Impossible”, which signaled a change in sound for Blush Response. Driving industrial grooves were eschewed for Digital Hardcore-esque cyberpunk beats.

The song Square was featured on the Cracx Track Sampler I, released in 2010.

On “Control Freak”, modular synthesizers and fuzzed out guitars set the stage for what can only be described as an assault of sonic destruction on the listener’s ears.

Impossible” followed this same formula, but with a more drone influenced sound, emphasized by the second song on the release “Quarter Life Crisis”.

When performing live, Blush Response appears with a full backing band, generally as a three or four piece, often featuring Tom Napack of Aesthetic Perfection and Dangerous Muse on guitar.

Joey is currently hard at work on the second Blush Response record - tentatively scheduled for an early 2012 release.
