Boat Harbour Beach is a small township and on the north west coast of Tasmania. The area is a popular tourist destination, the main attraction is the semi-circular sandy beach tucked down beside the hillside. The township has a population of 138[1], according to the 2006 census.
Boat Harbour Beach, nestled between a dramatic hinterland and azure waters is just 15 minutes from Burnie/Wynyard airport, 45 minutes from the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal and 55 minutes from the airport in Devonport, each providing easy daily connections to Melbourne and beyond.
Settled in the 1830s, Boat Harbour was used as a port for shipping potatoes along the north-west coast of Tasmania. Today, the area offers a much more idyllic lifestyle with fabulous holiday accommodation, Surf Life Saving Club, waterfront cafe and restaurant.
The crystal clear water is postcard blue, perfect for swimming and diving.
