Bob Dog was a character on the long-running television program Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, where he appeared as a resident of the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. The life-size character of Bob Dog was an innocent and friendly dog who would howl a lot, and was easily flustered, but who enjoyed support and friendship from many. In earlier episodes, if he perceived himself to have behaved poorly, for example - barking at one of the neighbors, he would put a bird cage over his head in embarrassment. He doesn't have any cousins, but he and Ana sort of adopted each other as "cousins".
Bob Dog was portrayed by Bob Trow, a veteran Pittsburgh radio personality and commercial actor who was widely known for his many voice characterizations.
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was produced by Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA public broadcaster WQED.
[edit] Trivia
A Swedish Indie rock band has taken their name from this character[citation needed], which in Swedish translates "Bob Hund".
