Boletus appendiculatus is an edible pored mushroom that grows under oaks. It is commonly known as the butter bolete.

- Cap - 8-20 cm in diameter; reddish-brown.
- Stem - 7-15 cm in height; 2.5-6 cm in width.
- Pores - lemon yellow, but stain blue.
- Flesh - light yellow, stains blue when cut.
- Spores - olive-brown.
