Chowdhury is of Bangladeshi descent, born to Bengali parents and brought up in Liverpool. When he was young he stayed with his family in rural Bangladesh, there he sacrificed a cow as part of the religious ceremony of Eid al-Adha.[1]
Chowdhury has recorded solo material as well as his work with The Zutons, available on his MySpace page,[2] but it is unknown if he plans to embark on a solo career. He is now a member of the band The Venus Fury, with ex members of Liverpool indie band The Dead 60's, and London based electronic pop band, Mancini.
