[edit] History

Formed in 1923,[1] Braddan home matches at the Clucas Laundry Ground at Tromode in Douglas. Braddan moved to the new Sports Council ground at Victoria Road in the early 1990s. To retain the links with the former ground the club named the new ground "Cronkbourne". Construction of the new clubhouse at Victoria Road started in 1994 in readiness for the 1994-95 season. The Club has continued to develop the pitch and facilities.[2]

The club were very successful in the 1930s, with four league title and a clean sweep of the senior trophies in 1938. They were promoted to the First Division in the 1984-85 season, but lasted just two seasons and were relegated in the 1987-88 season. They were Division Two champions in 1992-93, losing just one game all season.[3] They lasted three seasons in the First Division and were again relegated back to Division Two in the 1996-97 season.[4] The roller coaster continued the following season as they were promoted back up 1997-98 only to be relegated straight back down the next season.[5] They then stayed in Division Two until they were promoted as runners-up in 2005-06.[6] Yet again they lasted just one season in the top flight and were relegated in the 2006-07 season.[7][8] They reached the Woods Cup final in 2007-08[8] where they lost 2-0 to Colby.[9]

Braddan have a reserve team who compete in the Isle of Man Football Combination. In 2008 the club established a youth development setup, with two teams for the 2008-09 season, 13-15 and 15-17 who compete in their respective age group leagues.[10]
