The opening track on Lloyd's self-titled 2005 album, Brand New Day was released as a single in 2006.

Music video[edit]

With the video clip filmed in the Suburbs of Sydney, the clip follows the day of a white-collar worker (played by Australian actor David Wenham) traveling on the bus, conversing with other passengers. Lloyd is present throughout the clip seen playing acoustic guitar with the song.

An instrumental version of the song was used in advertisements for Telstra's T3 share offer in late 2006. The original version was also used in a Victorian Worksafe Advertisement in 2009 showing a man heading of to work for the first time after a workplace accident.

Brand New Day was used as the soundtrack for the closing montage of City Homicide's fifth season titled 'No Greater Honour', which aired in Australia in early 2011.
