[edit] Mixed martial arts
Brian Cobb had his first fight in 2004, which he won via submission early in the first round. After that fight, Cobb lost his next two fights. Cobb collected a 9-4 record before getting a fight with the now-defunct ShoXC.[1] Cobb won the fight at the end of the first round via rear naked choke. Cobb had one more fight before being signed to PFC. Cobb debuted in PFC on May 8, 2008, winning the PFC Lightweight Championship Title with a unanimous decision victory over Diego Saraiva.[2] Cobb successfully defended the title twice before getting signed by the UFC. After signing with the UFC, Cobb was forced to relinquish the PFC lightweight title.
[edit] Ultimate Fighting Championship
Cobb signed a four fight deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship on February 13, 2009, and he made his debut just eight days later in England at UFC 95. His lost his debut to Terry Etim via TKO due to a head kick followed up with punches in the first ten seconds of round two. The loss snapped "The Bandit's" nine-fight winning streak.[3] Cobb was released from the UFC following the loss.
[edit] Post UFC
Almost seven months after being cut from the UFC, Cobb returned to fighting in a losing effort to Ricardo Tirloni. Cobb took another long hiatus from fighting before returning to claim an impressive first round submission at Fight for Wrestling 2.
Cobb signed a deal with Japanese promotion, Sengoku in September 2010. He made his debut at Sengoku 15 against Kazunori Yokota. Cobb weighed in at 161 lbs. for the 155 lbs. contest.[4] Despite missing weight, Cobb won the fight via split decision.
Cobb debuted with the Maximum Fighting Championship in the main event of MFC 30. Cobb fought and defeated submission wizard and fellow UFC veteran Drew Fickett in the first round via TKO only moments after escaping a deep rear naked choke attempt by Fickett.
Cobb was set to fight for the MFC Lightweight Title at MFC 32 but the champion Antonio McKee weighted in seven pounds over the weight limit. Cobb was controlled in rounds one and two before dominating McKee in the final round. Cobb lost via unanimous 29-28 decision on all three judge's cards.
