Brian James Alexander (born August 15, 1990) is an American media host, host of Brian's World on 93.7 WBLK (Buffalo, NY) and the host of the nationally syndicated Top 30 Countdown with Brian James.[1]

Early life[edit]

Brian James was born in Alexandria, Virginia, the son of James and Cassandra Alexander. Both of his parents were graduates of University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He completed his High School career at DeMatha Catholic High School where he played varsity Football for Bill McGregor. James then went on to play Division III Football for Salisbury University. James was also a musician at Salisbury University, beginning his college career as a Music Major. James graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in Media Productions in 2012. While a student at Salisbury, James was initiated into the fraternity Omega Psi Phi. He has one younger sibling, Justin. Justin plays high school basketball.

Career[edit]

James was Program Director of the school radio station at Salisbury, Universaity (96.3 WXSU), helping to take it to record breaking heights in the DelMarva, Maryland area. While in school, he interned at 93.9 WKYS (Radio One) in Washington, DC and after graduation, he began his broadcasting career being hired into the company immediately upon graduation. In D.C, he first worked at WKYS, doing the Overnight show, and after 4 months On Air, accepted an offer to do Weekend Shifts in Ocean City, Maryland at 103.9 OC104.

Since then, James has shifted his focus from one radio platform to developing his full media output with hopes to branch out internationally through television and radio. He featured in his first independent film, Matters of the Heart, written and directed by Joseph Austin III.[2]

Brian accepted a position in Buffalo, NY to host 'Brian's World' on the legendary, 93.7 WBLK. [As of April 28, 2014]

Personal life[edit]

James was known prior as Giovanni Zeus upon first getting On Air in Washington, DC. Zeus was a nickname given to him by his mentor EZ Street but after being placed in situations that his 'alias' couldn't thrive in, he began to be known under his birth name, Brian James. He recently began his Renovatio Video Blog that opens himself up to the world. The blog was designed to put an end to the prior alias, and introduce the world to himself.

James has been mentored by several including Russ Parr, EZ Street, and Rickey Smiley.

Philanthropy[edit]

James participates in several community outreach programs in the Metropolitan Area as well as in Charlotte, North Carolina.
