Brienne-le-Château is a commune in the Aube department in north-central France. It is located 1 mile (2 km) from the right bank of the Aube River and 26 m. northeast of Troyes.

The École de Brienne was established in a 1730 and remained active until it was shut in 1790. It is currently a museum. Notable students included:

In 1814, it was the site of the Battle of Brienne, when the Sixth Coalition invaded France.
