Broadcast Engineering is a monthly trade publication covering the field of broadcast engineering in television broadcasting. The magazine's publisher, Penton Media (Prism Business Media prior to November 2006), produces Radio (formerly BE Radio) for the radio broadcasting industry. Both are available in North America.

BE Radio is a spin-off of Broadcast Engineering magazine, which began publication in 1959. Prior to 1994, Broadcast Engineering (often known as "BE") covered radio, television, and cable TV. In 1993, the leadership of BE, recognizing a growing divergence in the technical issues faced by radio and television broadcasting, chose to split the scope of the original magazine, resulting in the creation of BE Radio to cover only the radio industry, and narrowing the scope of Broadcast Engineering to television and cable only.
