Bukit Gombak MRT Station (NS3) is an above-ground Mass Rapid Transit station on the North South Line in Singapore. The station was opened on 10 March 1990. It was part of the Branch Line before the opening of the Woodlands Extension on 10 February 1996. The station is in Bukit Batok and is located near Bukit Batok Road and Bt Batok East Ave 5.
[edit] Platform Screen Doors
As with most of the stations along the North South MRT Line, it was initially built without Platform Screen Doors to prevent commuters from falling onto the train tracks. After several successful test at Jurong East, Yishun and Pasir Ris and eventually, installation of the half-height screen doors started in end-April 2010 and operations commenced on 16 August 2010 with Clementi.
