Bungowannah is a town and community in the central southern part of the Riverina and situated about 16 kilometres north west from Albury and 15 kilometres south east from Howlong on the Riverina Highway.
Bungowannah Post Office opened on 1 December 1867, was closed between 1906 and 1918, and finally closed in 1951.[2]
