Burn (energy drink)

[edit] Burn Action Sports
Burn's involvement in extreme sports includes snowboarding, skiing and skateboarding, with events sponsored across the world, but primarily in Europe. 2010 was the first year of the Burn River Jump in Livigno, Italy, an event which returned in 2011 as a 5*-rated TTR event.
Burn also has several snowboarding teams across Europe. The most prominent and senior of these is the Burn Units, which includes the riders Ståle Sandbech, Gigi Rüf, Mathieu Crepel and Arthur Longo. Several other Burn snowboarding teams are to be found in Romania, Hungary, France, Sweden, the Nordic countries and Italy with riders such as Marco Grigis and Cristea Tudor. The launch of the Burn Units came along with a film, entitled Alive, which was shot in the Vorarlberg province of Austria at Gigi's uncle's cabin.[1]
The most recent video to feature the burn units snowboarding team is Human / Machines [2], where Ståle Sandbech, Mathieu Crepel, Arthur Longo and Gigi Rüf take to the mountains of Norway, Sweden and New Zealand, with the concept of the video looking at whether man or machine-made snowboarding features are the best.
In addition to the burn units elite snowboarding team, in April burn also launched an international skateboarding team, which features Danish skateboarder Rune Glifberg and Ignacio 'Nachete' Morata, with further signings to come. It also operates under the burn units team name. These elite skaters will compete in competitions across Europe and the world. In October 2011, burn launched Never Extinguish, a short film starring burn riders Rune Glifberg, Dany Hamard, Hugo Maillard and Jonas Skrøder. The film was filmed and shot in Buenos Aires, Argentina and directed by Ash Bolland [3].
[edit] burn studios
Launching at the 2010 edition of the International Music Summit in Ibiza, burn studios aims to be "a global destination where professionals and raw talent can come together to share music brilliance, have access to authentic state-of-the-art music making tools, link into support of tailored mentoring sessions by some of the biggest names in electronic musid and connect creatively with peers through a cloud-based-digital platform".[4]
Central to burn studios' vision is the use of cloud-based technology and ambassadors of the scheme include Richie Hawtin and Cassius. On July 15 the first of the burn studios remix competitions launched with entrants reworking Cassius's 'The Sound of Violence', partnering with SoundCloud and Avid Technology. Subsequent remix competitions have centred around Uffie and Hawtin's Plastikman guise. In 2011 the burn studios Audiotool will be launched, an updated version of Andre Michelle's online programme of the same name.[5]
In 2011 burn also announced a partnership with French techno DJ and producer David Guetta, where burn will sponsor Guetta's Fuck Me I'm Famous events. burn has also co-produced a film, along with Partizan Films, which document's the rise and life of David Guetta, and will be released in late August to coincide with his new album, Nothing But the Beat. The film itself features contributions and interviews from the Snoop Dogg, Norman Cook, David Morales, Laurent Garnier amongst others. The official trailer was released in late August.[6]
