Bus Stop (band)
Bus Stop were a British dance act best known for their single "Kung Fu Fighting", which reached #8 in the UK Singles Chart in June 1998.[1] The song sampled the original vocals by Carl Douglas, the original being a UK #1 hit in 1974, with added rap verses. The group then released three further singles, including a dance version of Van Halen's "Jump" in 1999. The group disbanded in 2000, although member Daz Sampson has since gone on to represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, and has gone on to have further chart success as part of Uniting Nations.
Many of their songs have been featured in the popular game series Dance Dance Revolution, including "Kung Fu Fighting", "Kick the Can", "Swing It", "One Two (Little Bitch)", "Na-Na", "Swing It" and "Long Train Runnin'". The band also made many appearances on the Dancemania series of compilation albums, including Delux 3 (1999), Speed 2 (1999), X1 (1999), Delux 4 (2000), Euro Mix Happy Paradise (2000), Speed Best 2001 (2000), 21 (2001), Bass #10 Super Best 1998-2001 (2001), Speed 7 (2001), X8 (2001), Classical Speed (2002), 22 (2002), Best Yellow (2002), Speed 8 (2002), Speed 9 (2002), EX2 (2003) and Hyper Delux (2003).[2]
