iMindMap is the Mind Mapping software from Tony Buzan. The desktop application uses Tony Buzan’s organic Mind Mapping methods to create maps for brainstorming, organising, creative thinking, project management and planning.
Developed by ThinkBuzan Ltd, Buzan’s iMindMap runs on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and GNU/Linux. The software allows organic and linear Mind Maps to be created using a mouse, keyboard, interactive whiteboard or tablet computer.[1]
The latest version iMindMap 5[2] was released in April 2011 and as part of the range includes a new free product, iMindMap Basic. iMindMap Basic is a simple Mind Mapping desktop tool that can be downloaded for free and is a lifetime license. There is also an online tool with collaboration and cloud storage, iMindMap Online[3]
iMindMap 5 includes the following features: Presentation View[4]; 3D View[5], SmartLayout, MultiMaps, Smart Cells including flowcharts and spreadsheets, adding & exporting audio notes, attaching data (via dragging and dropping), intelligent printing, filtering, integration with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook), Apple iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) and OpenOffice (Writer, Calc, Impress); Project View for project management; image and icon library; sketch tool, OPML Import & Export, expand and collapse; focus on and focus out; relationship arrows; boundaries; importation of Mind Manager, Novamind, Freemind and Word files; export as web pages [6], PDFs and SVGs, It also Supports Mac Snow Leopard and Windows 7.
