Bykhaw

Bykhaw (Belarusian: Бы́хаў, Bykhau [ˈbɨxaʊ]; Polish: Bychów, Bykhov Russian: Бы́хов; Łacinka: Bychaŭ) is a town in the eastern Belarusian voblast of Mahilyow. It is located 44 km south of Mahilyow (Mogilev) on the Dnieper River (Dniapro), and is the administrative center of the Bykhov Raion. The population is approximately 20,000 (1989).
Bykhov is known for its 17th century synagogue.
