CIBA VISION is a company that researches, develops, and manufactures contact lenses and lens care products. A Novartis company, it is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia (USA) in the Johns Creek Technology Park. Manufacturing plants are also located in Germany, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. CIBA VISION operates a large compound in Duluth, GA, USA just North of Atlanta, employing a large number of people.
CIBA was founded in 1859. It later merged with Geigy in 1970 to form Ciba-Geigy, which, in turn, merged with Sandoz in 1996 to form Novartis. The brand was introduced in 1980.
CIBA VISION produces contacts such as Air Optix extended wear contacts, Air Optix Night & Day 30-day wear contacts, Freshlook colored contacts, and Dailies (contact lens) daily contacts. CIBA VISION also manufacturers the AoSept and Clear Care brands of contact lens cleaning solution.
