COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, also known by its acronym CIIT, is a public research university in Pakistan. It is a multi campus institute with its main campus located in Islamabad. It is ranked among the top 5 Universities of Pakistan. The CIIT, besides its principal campus at Islamabad, has six other fully functional campuses at Lahore, Abbottabad, Wah, Attock, Sahiwal and Vehari.

CIIT was founded in April 1998, and started operating in a rented building of the
University Grant Commission, with certificated courses began in August 1998.
Since its establishment, the university has attracted several influential scientists and scholars.
[1 ] It is listed among one of the top institutions of higher education by the [2 ] HEC. The university is also a member of [2 ] Association of Commonwealth Universities of the United Kingdom. [3 ]
CIIT's research and development directed towards the advancement of
philosophy, law, social and natural sciences has increased its progress during the last ten years as an institution of higher education. Furthermore, the university is noted for its large-scale publications in [4 ] Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics in reputed national and international academic journals. [5 ]
