A caicque is a light Turkish rowboat.
Kayik (for spelling, use caicque) is a general term, covering numerous types of rowboats in Turkish naval history. There were different types used mainly in old capital city Istanbul's naval transport. Besides the term also describes the rowboat designs which are identical to the ones being used today.
Most famous types were piyade, pereme and pazar kayigi. There were also specially designed rowboats to fulfill certain missions like carrying coal, wood, gypsum etc.
