Calibre One is a specialist executive search firm,[1] based in Europe and North America. The firm works with venture capital, private equity and publicly funded technology businesses to build their executive management teams. The firm was founded in London in 1999 and in San Francisco in 2001.

The firm was founded by Partners including James Brocket and Tom Barnes. James Brocket has a degree in Biological Sciences [2] and was previously a Practice Director at a publicly listed recruitment firm.[3] Tom Barnes has a Masters Degree in English and Psychology and previously held the position of Head of Practice at a publicly listed recruitment firm.[4]

Calibre One Index[edit]

The Calibre One Index was first published in 2004 to detail the investment by venture capital firms into technology companies in North America and Europe. The Index is published each quarter and has been blogged about in TechCrunch as well as the mainstream press.[5][1] More recently the Index has been expanded to include details of some Executive Moves within the technology space, as well as a more comprehensive review of the Exits by investment firms during the quarter.[6]
