California's 26th State Senate district is one of 40 California State Senate districts. It is currently represented by Democrat Holly Mitchell of Los Angeles.

District profile[edit]

The 26th Senate district encompasses a part of Los Angeles County, including all of Culver City and View Park-Windsor Hills, as well as parts of Los Angeles, Ladera Heights, and Westmont.

2011 redistricting[edit]

After redistricting in 2011 by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission, the new district now includes 9.4% of Los Angeles County. Places in the district include the cities of Beverly Hills, Redondo Beach, and Santa Monica and the Hollywood, Venice, and Westchester neighborhoods of Los Angeles. These new borders will not be taking effect until after the 2014 election.
