California's 30th State Senate district is one of 40 California State Senate districts. It is currently represented by Democrat Ronald Calderon of Montebello.

District profile[edit]

The 30th Senate district encompasses a part of Los Angeles County, including all of Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, East La Mirada, Huntington Park, La Mirada, Montebello, Norwalk, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte, South Whittier, West Whittier-Los Nietos, Whittier, and parts of East Los Angeles, Florence-Graham, Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles, and South Gate.

2011 redistricting[edit]

After redistricting in 2011 by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission, the new district now includes 9.4% of Los Angeles County. Places in the district include Culver City, Ladera Heights, and Westmont and the Crenshaw, Downtown, and Florence neighborhoods of Los Angeles. The new district lines will take effect in the 2014 election.
