Cannonball Kid was a comic strip appearing in Nutty comic and drawn by Rob Lee from 1980 to 1985. The strip featured a character who was obsessed with football in a similar fashion to the Beano character Ball Boy. When Nutty was merged with The Dandy in 1985, the strip was discontinued. Cannonball Kid was however revived in The Dandy under the new name of Owen Goal in 1998, but Owen was taken over by Nigel Parkinson soon after.
