Canton Charter Academy
Canton Charter Academy is a National Heritage Academy school for ages kindergarten to grade 8 in Canton, Wayne County, Michigan. The school opened in 2000.
The school has an active student council and a prestigious National Junior Honor Society. In January 2011 it won NHA School of the Year Award. CCA is an excellent learning environment for students of all ages. The school requires its students to wear uniforms. Kindergarten through fifth grade wears navy bottoms and white collared shirts. The middle school pupils wear khaki bottoms with dark green shirts. A few occasions provide the chance to wear casual dress. The school offers a few classes that many other middle schools don't offer, for the middle school students. A mythology class, focusing on Greek Myths, is offered for the seventh and eighth graders by the eighth grade history teacher. A service learning class is offered by the three deans of the school. Many students enjoy their years at "CCA" and are well prepared for years to come- with advanced learning and a great enviorment.
