Caretaker usually refers to one of the following:
- A person that has the responsibility of looking after buildings and the smooth running of an estate (used in this sense in US English especially when done in the absence of the owner)[1]. This includes making sure the heating is working, cleaning, portering goods, moving furniture, doing repairs, ordering materials, etc., usually called janitor, custodian, or superintendent in US English.
- Property caretaker, a person who cares for a property
- Caretaker government, a temporary government
- A person who takes care of another in the general sense or in the sense of a caregiver (US) / carer (UK)
