Carranglan is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 33,233 people in 6,603 households. It is the largest municipality in terms of land area.

The outbreak of World War II was beginning, Japanese Imperial forces was still occupied and entering the municipality of Carranglan on 1942 and since the Japanese Occupation. The built of the headquarters and military garrisons of the Imperial Japanese Armed Forces was stationed the town municipalities.

When the three year main conflicts and insurgencies during the Japanese Occupation on 1942. Many various guerrilla groups and the Hukbalahap Communist resistance was they side the fought of the main operating positions at the municipality of Carranglan and aiding the all stronghold of local Filipino troops of the Philippine Commonwealth Army units and attacks Japanese soldiers. The ended of the conflict insurgency on 1944, some guerrilla groups and the Hukbalahap resistance has retreated and surrendered by the Imperial Japanese ground troops at the town of Carranglan. Start the Battle of Carranglan on 1944 to 1945 between the Imperial Japanese troops and the combined American and Philippine Commonwealth ground forces aiding the various guerrilla groups and Hukbalahap resistance during the liberation.
