The three stretches of the (U.S. and Mexico) Rio Grande/Rio Bravo valleys located in are: northwestern U.S. state of New Mexico; along the border of southern state of Texas and northeastern Mexico state of Chihuahua; and extreme southern Texas, named the Rio Grande Valley from Brownsville, Texas and upstream.

Big Bend National Park and the mountains are a stretch for certain Bird Species.
