This category contains articles related to the flora of North America. It includes plant taxa that are native to North America. Taxa of the lowest rank are always included. Higher taxa are included only if endemic.
For the purposes of this category, North America is defined in accordance with the definition of "Northern America" in the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions. That is, it includes
- the United States, including Alaska and the Aleutian Islands, but not Hawaii;
- Canada
- Greenland
- Mexico
but excludes Central America, which is geophysically a part of North America, but has stronger floristic affinities with South America, and so is treated as part of the latter continent.
