Indigenous people involved in politics in the region of the former Incan Empire (Tawantinsuyu), the Andean region. This includes parts of the present day countries of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. Probably the best known individual in the category currently is Juan Evo Morales Ayma, the current and first ever indigenous president of Bolivia, and Apu Mallku, and leader of Bolivia's largest coca growing union.
