"Studies in Maryland, New York and Chicago determined that about 20 percent of women who die during pregnancy are murder victims."[1] The same article states that the "No. 1 risk of death for pregnant women is the normal medical complication of childbearing, followed by traffic accidents and then homicide."[1]
