A recovered factory is a company in which control and/or ownership has been seized by a worker cooperative, generally in response to an approaching or actual bankruptcy. The term emerged in reference to takeovers in Argentina after the country's 2001 economic collapse, but is sometimes applied, as it is here, to comparable cases in other contexts.
