These are companies or people who produce (manufacture or assemble) watches and/or watch movements.

All entries should be in one of the subcategories.

Only companies making complete watches, including manufacturing movements of their own design should be listed in the sub-category Category:Watch manufacturing companies .

Companies that merely assemble watches using movements made by third parties should be listed in the sub-category Category:Watch Brands.

Individuals who manufacture watches or watchmovements should be listed in the sub-categoryies Watchmakers (Individuals)

Individuals who primarily repair watches, especially if they do not have the skills to make every part of a watch movement themselves should be refered to as watch repairers rather than as watchmakers.

A related category is 'clockmakers' (see Wikipedia Category:clockmakers), but they are distinctly different field than watchmakers. There is sometimes confusion because many non-english languages have only one term for both fields, such as e.g. German which uses the term 'Uhrmacher' for both.
