Note: As of September 2005, a decision was made to recategorize four countries that Wikipedia had been considering to be primarily West African and occasionally Central African as primarily Central African. The map above has not yet been changed to reflect this decision. These countries are:

• Cameroon - this has its own subcategory - use {{Cameroon-geo-stub}}
• Equatorial Guinea - this has its own subcategory - use {{EquatorialGuinea-geo-stub}}
• Gabon - this has its own subcategory - use {{Gabon-geo-stub}}
• Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville)- this has its own its own subcategory - use {{RCongo-geo-stub}}
• São Tomé and Príncipe - this has its own subcategory - use {{SaoTomePrincipe-geo-stub}}

Update: This decision was related to Wikipedia generally applying the United Nations subdivisions of the world, and the UN implemented a new standard in 2005. If this change is to be implemented completely on Wikipedia, the following the following changes will take place affecting this category:
