The sub-category list is quite irrational and irrelvant.

There are lots of articles here that need to be put into sensible subcategories. -- Beland 02:31, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I agree. Just a brief look around shows this category is really confusing. For example, the sub-category "abbreviations" has nothing to do with linguistics, and mostly consists of pages that have an abbreviation or acronym in the title, regardless of what subject they are about. How do you remove a subcategory? --Torgo 05:01, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
