Probably we both are not exactly correct here. According to, for example, to Encyclopaedia Britannica, "the term philology, where used, means the study of language—i.e., linguistics." So it is not a subdivision of linguistics, but is linguistics, and all philologists are linguists by definition (classical philology is a bit different matter). I'd say, a redirect (see also) would suffice. --Barbatus 12:07, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
