I've searched Wikipedia and can't find an explanation of what a "tracking category" is, what defines a category as one that would be "tracked". I looked through the list of articles in this category and aside from Wikipedia-related topics, I can't find a commonality that would explain why the others are in this category. What makes a category, trackable? Liz Read! Talk! 00:58, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

@Liz:. I am not aware of any formal definition of them being made anywhere. In general however, our top-level naming scheme for categories is a mess with "tracking categories" and "administration categories" being used interchangeably in a confusing mix. I have raised this issue at Wikipedia_talk:Categorization#Simplify_and_refine_naming_of_category_classes. You are invited to give you opinion if you still are interested in this subject.
