Ceará-Mirim

Ceará-Mirim is a municipality in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The population is 70,012 and the area 739.686 km².

History[edit]

The area had been inhabited by indigenous people before the arrival of the Portuguese. In the seventeenth century the Society of Jesus settled here. The founding of the town came in 1755.
