Cenotaph is an independent record label founded in December 2000 in Pittsburgh, PA. The label specializes in unusual music, often hard to categorize, and has released a handful of compact discs and vinyl LPs.
The label has released records by Scatter, Earth Trumpet, Need New Body, the Arco Flute Foundation, Microwaves, Eyes and Arms of Smoke, Burning Star Core and Guignol.
After the label's sole proprietor moved to the UK in 2005, the label went on an extended hiatus. In April 2008, Cenotaph returned with an LP release by Car Commercials. The label, now based in Scotland, intends to resume a vinyl-only release schedule.
