The Central Bantu or Savannah Bantu languages are those Narrow Bantu languages which fall outside Northwest Bantu. This generally means more-or-less zones D through S in Guthrie's geographic classification. They include most of the numerically important Bantu languages. The evidence for Central Bantu is lexical, and there is no evidence that it is historically valid.
