Central Leather Research Institute

Central Leather Research Institute or CLRI is the world's largest leather research institute. It is located near IIT-M in Adyar, Chennai (India). CLRI was founded on April 24, 1948. It is a constituent laboratory under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research.[1]
For over 10 years this institute was led by T. Ramasami, currently the Secretary Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The present Director is Asit Baran Mandal.[2]
