The Centre for Theoretical Studies (CTS) is an inter- disciplinary centre providing facilities for theoretical research in fundamental areas of science and engineering. The facilities at CTS are available to all members of Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and are also extended to researchers in other organisations through the Visitor Program.
Currently CTS is supporting research in the following fields -

- Nonlinear Sciences
- High Energy Physics
- Dynamics and Control
- Theoretical Chemistry
