Ceruminous glands

Ceruminous glands are specialized sudoriferous glands (sweat glands) located in the external auditory canal. They produce cerumen or earwax to lubricate and clean the auditory canal.

Thye are located in the auditory cana and are founf in the subcutaneous layer. They secrete cermen or also known as earwax. Their main functions are to barrier against foreign particles, waterproof canals, prevents bacteria and fungi from entering.
