Chainpur is a village development committee in Sankhuwasabha District in the Kosi Zone of north-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4933 people living in 948 individual households.[1]

A small VDC in eastern region of Nepal,chainpur has been famous for hundreds of years for karuwa special kind of water mug with pipe tap sculptured with artistic carving on exterior of it.
It used to be district head quarter of Shankhuwa-sava.
