From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chances Are is a compilation by Bob Marley, consisting of previously unreleased recordings from 1968-1972, overdubbed in 1981. This compilation was seen by many as a way of making money off his recent death, however it features several recordings which were unheard outside of Jamaica at the time. Since then, the album has dropped in popularity due to the original, overdub-less versions of the songs surfacing on the Complete Wailers series in 1998. The majority of songs on this album were rereleased on the Black Progress album in 1997, prior to their original versions being issued on the Complete Wailers series. The only song not reissued in this version is Mellow Mood, although there was a limited CD pressing of Chances Are printed in the early nineties.
