Chandrabindoo (Bengali: চন্দ্রবিন্দু Chôndrobindu) (often spelled Chandrabindu), based in Kolkata, is a bangla band. Their name refers both to the last character in the Bengali alphabet and to a dialogue (very famous among Bengalis) from the hilarious work HaJaBaRaLa by Sukumar Ray.
The band is known for Chandril's satirical, colloquial lyrics, full of references to current affairs and cultural phenomena. They also sing other types of song by Anindya. Upal is also very popular for his unique voice.
They are well known in Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai and have recently started touring internationally including a performance in aid of the Kolkata based Child In Need Institute (CINI) in London. Chandrabindoo is the official brand ambassador for CINI ASHA.

[edit] Starting days
They faced a lot of hardship in producing their first album "aar jani na". They made their demo with the help of a out of date sound mixer. It was released in 1998, and got a lukewarm response. Then Late Goutam Chattopadhyay of Mohiner Ghoraguli was impressed. He suggested their name to sagarika music co. and the second album "gadha" was released. The 1st public live show of Chandrabindoo was held in Gyan Manch near Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata.
